1 John 3:2-3

There are so many contradictions in this verse. So much paradox, but there's a lot of that in this Christian life. And in life in general!
We're saved now, but we're also waiting for it. We're made right with God and have experienced transformation and yet we're still waiting for the full transformation. Still struggling with the world and our own sin. And yet, called holy and dearly loved.
While we wait, this hope in him brings more transformation. Because as we fix our hearts on him, we can't help but be changed. You become what you behold.
1 John 3:2-3 Beloved, we are God's children now, and what we will be has not yet appeared, but we know that when he appears we shall be like him, because we shall see him as he is. And everyone who thus hopes in him purifies himself as he is pure.
